Course aims

To provide an opportunity to implement skills of reviewing and editing in a real working environment of reviewer and editor.

Brief description of the course

Practical work at a newspaper editorial, translation company, government institution, media enterprise or other organization that uses language editing and/or reviewing. Actual work performed on the placement depends on the organization and may involve activities related to editing, proof-reading, reviewing, compiling minutes and memos etc. Professional placement can be conducted in two different companies (reviewer’s and editor’s placement separately).

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- applies the acquired knowledge and skills in professional work,
- is able to communicate with the members of collective;
- choose appropriate methods for solving tasks, critically assess and analyze the need of the future development.
