Course aims
* to assist in acquiring knowledge regarding the institutions, functions and competence of constitutional review;
* to provide an overview of the role of the legal chancellor in the system of constitutional review;
* to help students understand the particularities of the pre-court constitutional review process.

Brief description of the course
The course covers different topics regarding constitutional review. Among other, the following will be discussed: the institutions, functions and competence of constitutional review; the role of the legal chancellor in the system of constitutional review, the principles regarding his/her activity, main legal questions and procedures.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands and is capable of explaining the main principles of constitutional review and knows the competence and activities of the legal chancellor;
- can define the role of the legal chancellor in the system of constitutional review;
- understands texts, overviews, analyses and implementation options regarding the position of the legal chancellor;
- can analyse and use the different outputs of the activity of the legal chancellor in assessing main legal questions and implementing legal norms.
