Course aims
Encourage students to engage in business.
Give an overview of challenges related to entrepreneurship and introduce means for success.
Give an overview of theoretical usage in recreational event management, analyse different forms of recreational events.
Familiarize with recreational settings for event management and their operational work.
Brief description of the course
Introduction to entrepreneurship and strategic management. Basics of business plan, generating and testing the business idea
SWOT analysis of a company. Organizational structure, business and personnel management.
Basics of marketing in entrepreneurship, main dominating patterns and trends.
Types and forms of recreational events. Events for different target groups.
Introduction of different fields of event management: planning and marketing, budget and financing, teamwork management, legal aspects of organizing events; safety and security requirements, events and media, characteristics of recreational event settings.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands issues related to getting involved in entrepreneurship and its management;
- analyses performance of business;
- assesses risk related to entrepreneurship and manage them;
- knows foundation of business plan;
- knows principles and basic steps of event management process;
- plans events for different target groups;
- analyses management of recreational event.
