Core subject. The concept of standard of speech and lingual norm. Causes of norm violation. Correction of informal speech.

Brief description of the course

The concept of standard of speech. Norms and variants of writing, causes of norm violation. Correct pronunciation. Roots of lexical, grammatical and stylistic mistakes. Correction of students informal discourse. Pragmatic and functional aspects of communication. Work with dictionaries.
