Course aims
During the course connections between somatic diseases and psyhiatric processes will be reviewed.
Brief description of the course
During the course students will get the overview of different psychosomatic disorders, comparison with depressive and anxiety disorders. Cultural and genetic approaches will be discussed, methods of evaluation and therapy in clinical practice will be covered. In addition an overview of neurological evaluation will be given and different types of pain (headaches, low back pain) and disorders with prodromal psychiatric symptoms will be covered.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has a basic knowledge of most common psyhiatric symptoms in somatic disorders and about more widely used diagnostic methods.
