Course aims
Objective: To acquire the knowledge of didactics to organize lessons of home economics in comprehensive school.
Brief description of the course
The history of home economics. Teaching forms. Didactics principles.Teaching methods. Age-specific characteristics of acquiring knowledge of home economics. Aims and stages of a lesson. Preparation for lessons. Using didactical materials. Work with textbook. Interior of a school kitchen. Control and assessment.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Understands historical background of home economics, its place as a school subject and its future;
Can apply different teaching approaches when compiling lesson plans; knows how to compile didactic material according to subject and teaching method.
