Course aims
To give a overview about household cleaning methods, chemicals and appliances. Bring to an understanding importance of ergonomical aspects in organizing different housekeeping methods. To give a know-how and practical skills of cleaning and maintenance clothes and shoes, home textiles, furniture and home appliances.
Brief description of the course
Ergonomics and housekeeping organization. Cleaning methods, chemicals and home appliances. Classification of chemicals. Safety aspects. Different surface materials. Cleaning and taking care of clothes, home textiles, shoes. Fluff and fold of different home textiles. Home appliances – technological principles, using, programs, selection principles.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Knowledge’s of main components of detergents, their functions and general using principles;
ability to choose right cleaning methods, instruments and detergents for different surfaces, textiles and machines;
knowledge’s about using, taking care of and selecting present-day home appliances.
