Course aims
Overview of the statistical methods used in the economy and Excel capabilities for solving statistical tasks in economic statistics. Solving tasks in economic statistics.
Brief description of the course
Probability theory for economic tasks. Verification of economic theoretical hypotheses, economic forecasts, decision-making process. Concept of a model.
Statistical models. Modeling process. Model reliability. Statistical significance of model parameters. Basic analysis of time series. Distinguishing trends. Factor analysis. Non parametric tests. MS Excel capabilities in economic statistics.
