Course aims

Minor. Objectives are building mathematical models of economic situations, solutions for optimisation and management problems.

Brief description of the course

The role of mathematical methods in management. Main concepts of management. Parts of decision process, tests of results. Modelling and analysis of decision process. Queuing theory. Convex programming. Standard and canonical forms of linear programming problems. Optimal solutions. Dual linear programming. Duality theorems. Transportation problems, Elements of game theory. Linear programming and games.

Independent work

Individual work with computerized materials, preparation for tests.

Learning outcomes in the course

Knows mathematical facts and is able to use methods in volume of a subject.

Assessment methods

Admission to examination permitted after passing two class tests and the two larger home tasks. The exam consists of a questionnaire, two theoretical questions and one practical problem.
