Course aims
Learning the instrumental analysis methods in advanced level. Obtains experience for working independently on the selected instrumental analysis method.
Brief description of the course
Instrumental analysis methods: infrared spectrometry, Raman spectrometry, mass spectrometry, capillary electrochromatography, gas chromatography.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
The student:
knows how to use the important terms of the main methods, is capable of discussing the basic topics learned during the course;
knows the basic methods in instrumental analysis, can describe their working principles and usages;
is capable of using the chosen instrumental analysis methods independently and knows how to interpret the obtained results;
knows how to calculate the concentrations of unknowns; knows how to construct and use calibration and titration curves and is capable of resolving combined equations; knows how to assess the reliability of the obtained research results; is capable of expressing the results in easily understandable and logical manner; is capable of interpreting the results and can use these to make conclusions.
