Course aims
The goal is to give a more fundamental overview on the structure of metals and their properties to deepen understanding of the structure of matter though the most widely spread solid material, metal.
Brief description of the course
Metals, metallic binding force, structure of metals, metal systems, alloys. Intermetallics. Thermodynamic properties of metals. Phase diagrams of metal systems. Heat conductivity, diffusion, mechanical properties of metals and alloys. Ordering and dissipation of metal alloys. Phase transitions in alloys.
