Course aims

õppeaine eesmärgid eesti k To support the linkage between a didactic knowledge and the school reality; provide the students with the ability of communicating with the school community as a (prospective) teacher; offer students chances to get experience and develop professionally as a teacher of Craft and Technology.

Brief description of the course

Teaching practice I offer students to get experience as a teacher of Craft and Technology. The student shall watch and analyse the classes given by the subject teachers and/or other students, he shall prepare and perform the classes of Craft and Technology and analyse his activities as a teacher of these subjects.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- in cooperation with a supervisor, takes into account educational goals and national and school curricula when planning the teaching and learning process, and creates links between different subjects and thematic areas in teaching;
- uses subject-appropriate knowledge, terminology and teaching methods in the teaching and learning process, taking into account learners’ age and individual characteristics;
- analyses the teaching and learning process and their own activities in cooperation with a supervisor, based on planned objectives and guiding documents, and draws conclusions to support their further professional development;
- follows teacher ethics, rules of courtesy and school practices, and cooperates with supervisors and other stakeholders involved in the teaching practice.
