Course aims
To develop students’ knowledge and practical skills in the real process of craft and technology training at schools.
Brief description of the course
Getting acquainted with the basis of the internship – rooms, equipment and the layout of tools. Getting to know the work plan and craft items selected by the teacher. Observation of the lessons of the subject teacher and analysis of them under supervision of the methodologist. Selecting classrooms suitable for delivering lessons and compiling a plan of work. Coordinating the plans about making craft items for the school during the internship with the subject teacher and the methodologist. Compiling lesson plans and preparing subject lessons under supervision of the subject teacher and the methodologist. Delivering craft lessons in forms 5 – 6. Discussing the subject lessons delivered with the subject teacher and the methodologist. Delivering an assessed lesson on the topic agreed about and prepared. Making two craft items or study aids needed by the school.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
The student teachers explore and reflect upon their classroom experiences, seeing their connection with the theories.The student teachers can plan, execute lessons and evaluate the effectiveness of their teaching, knowing the subject content and learner peculiarities as well as selecting appropriate teaching methods.
