Course aims
The aim of the course is to create prerequisites for using sewing technology in the design of simpler products and to support the acquisition of the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
Brief description of the course
Textile materials and their properties. Sewing tools, sewing machine construction and handling. Basics of sewing technology: terminology, preparatory work, patterns, selected technologies, finishing works. Practical tasks are done to develop skills.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows how to use textile materials and tools appropriately, handle various sewing machines;
- has basic knowledge and skills in sewing technology and knows terminology;
- can analyze, generalize and apply knowledge and skills acquired in practice.
