Course aims
To create preconditions for understanding natural environment as a source of creative self-realisation at three levels: nature as a facilitator of coping; nature as a resource for self-development; nature as a supporter of creating new things in different areas of activity.
Brief description of the course
The types of relations between people and nature: immediate-mediated, concrete-abstract. Visual world and visuality. Film as a guide to the nature. Audiovisual creation as an improver of the perception of nature. Expressing the perception of nature by means of a single picture, series of pictures or a video film. About the development principle in the Universe. About the development of the Universe, the Earth and a human being. Leonardo da Vinci’s notes about the nature. Bionics. Emotions. Sound, its sources. The effect of sound on psyche. Sounds of the nature. Tips for communicating with the natural environment. Independent work: expressing thoughts induced by the nature by means of an essay, a selection of pictures, a series of pictures, film, sound recording, etc.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Ability to see and give meaning to the nature as a resource for coping and creating new things;
Ability to apply the acquired knowledge and experience in the area of specialisation to support the manifestation of creativity;
Ability to use the acquired knowledge and experience in pedagogical work.
