Course aims
Aspects of movement, dance and music and their practical application for the dance movement for wellbeing (DMW).
Brief description of the course
Learning takes place during practical and theoretical classes, where various aspects of movement, dance and music are studied. Following aspects will be important:
How to create and use warm-ups, the goals and different styles and what should be considered;
Choreographic structures, learning to develop or create dances, that fit to the theme of the lesson;
How to implement folkdances or sacred dances into DMW.
The meaningful and specific use of music, the character and the effects of music, aspects of musicology. During the course the students will experience the connection between those aspects and the concept of DMW and they will learn to work with those aspects in an independent and creative way. Process based study requires active participation in classes (75%). Independent work: work with the literature, creating exercises.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Skills to create effective and functional warm-ups, that are connected with the subject of the lesson;
Skills to implement folkdance and sacred dance according to the DMW;
Conscious and meaningful use of music;
Skills to create simple choreographies and to instruct them.
