Course aims
The objective of the course is to develop music teacher skills, knowledge how to choose independently repertoire and deliver the suitable age and capability repertoire attractively to students. Introduce alternative jazz/pop style program layout principles and possibilities to the students.
Brief description of the course
Overview of classical and jazz/pop harmony, which are the differences based on primary school/gymnasium song-book examples. Introduction to the alternative design program principles and elementary playing skills. Knowledge of sign system in jazz/pop music, rhythmic, typical vocabulary and blues as foundation to the contemporary jazz-pop and rock music.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understanding of basic principles of free jazz/pop programming and practice;
- knowledge of most typical keyboard usage in free jazz/pop programming.
