Course aims
To give students basic knowledge and skills in practical work with an orchestra;
To give students skills to carry out the duties of an orchestra conductor and have to get to know about the details of the job;
Improve their general musical knowledge, listen to concerts, and attend rehearsals of other professional and hobby orchestras.

Brief description of the course
Applying the acquired special knowledge in practical work with an orchestra. Students perform their practical placement at hobby orchestras. They carry out the duties of an orchestra conductor and have to get to know about the details of the job. Students fulfil the tasks listed in the practical placement guide. They improve their general musical knowledge, listen to concerts, and attend rehearsals of other professional and hobby orchestras.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Acquired basic knowledge and skills in practical work with an orchestra;
Acquired basic skills to carry out the duties of an orchestra conductor;
Acquired basic skills for work with repertoire of the diferent level of difficulty, rehearsing and perfecting;
Student know how to create working atmosphere in music collective.
