Course aims
To thoroughly prepare future music teachers and educators. To provide an overview of the piano repertoire and practical work as a concertmaster via different ensembles and collectives. To teach the ability to be creative and independent in working as a music teacher - to choose a repertoire that takes into consideration age and ability, and present it attractively to the pupils.
Brief description of the course
Romantics- cycles and miniatures, dances and etudes by different authors (Schubert, Schumann, Chopin, Liszt, et al.). Scales with flats, reading music. Accompaniments to songs from primary school (classes 1 - 6) songbooks.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Mastering freely the aforementioned repertoire. Proficiency in styles and forms according to the academic programme. Virtuosity in mastering a pair of scales in maximum pace. Skills to design accompaniments to children`s songs. Skills to accompany the children´s songs with soloists and ensembles.
