Course aims
To provide a basic knowledge of sexuality and self destructive sexual behaviour. Students acquire skills in teaching family studies and sex education subjects in secondary schools.
Brief description of the course
Family studies: the role of marriage and the family in the community. The basic concept of sexuality. Self destructive sexual behaviour. Sexuality as an integrated part of the personality. Sex education in school. Health aspects in the context of sexual education. The ability to consider basic needs in communication. Self -esteem and sexual behaviour. Decision making in connection with sexuality. The development of sexuality. Pubescent sex roles. Indicators of reproductive health. Fertilisation and pregnancy. Avoiding an unwanted pregnancy. The prevention of sexually transmitted diseases. Methods for preventing AIDS, beliefs and myths. Safe sexual behaviour . Sexual minorities. Ill sexuality. Oppression and self establishment. Love and sex. Close partnership, and the skills needed to establish and keep it.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Lectures, group work, practical training, the presentation of the results of independent group work. Control of independent work in the form of presentations and group work. Themes for group work: The difference between falling in love and love, methods and possibilities of preventing separation. Ethics - efficiency in family life, causes of abortion. Does popularity mean success?
