Course aims
The purpose of the Bachelor´s Special Seminar II is to familiarize students with research process and its different phases, practice scientific discussion and argumentation skills and develop in giving constructive feedback, and critically evaluate own, written work.
Brief description of the course
Accepted (grade A , B or C ) performance of BA seminar I is a prerequisite for taking the seminar
BA II seminar consists of weekly seminars, where problems, issues, questions of how to write a BA thesis are covered. Students have to give two presentations and be once opponent during the spring.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- write a literature review about his/her research topic
- choose suitable research methods for his/her topic
- participate in scientific discussion
- present his/her own thesis to others, reason and justify the decisions made and critically evaluate the work
- knows how to act as an opponent and how to give constructive critics to other participants in the seminar
- is able to independently carry through a research process and finalize his/her BA thesis
