Course aims
To develop competence to understand the purpose and basis of public relations, both in history and today, using evidence-based approaches; support the development of cultural and ethical values and readiness to take these into account in future careers; develop understanding of different aspects of PR activities
Brief description of the course
Paricipants will get an overview of PR history and development, also ethical, professional and theoretical principles. The role of communication in an organization is at the centre of the course. Course also covers media relations and basics of crisis communication.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the basics of PR;
- makes basic connections between theoretical and practical PR;
- works independently with professional literature;
- solves professional tasks in a team;
- fulfil basic PR tasks.
