Course aims
The aim of the subject is to acquire an overview of the forms of new media based on the Internet, the skills to use them and the changes they cause in traditional media.
Brief description of the course
Changes and updates in the press caused by the Internet.
Different types of digital media and the merging of media, their recognition.
Obtaining, processing and managing information on the Internet.
Internet security skills online.
Types of social media and their use. Creating accounts, interacting with other users.
Use and Use of User Generated Content.
Serving information in the production of online media.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- recognizes the changes in the press due to the development of the Internet and is able to relate them to the reasons;
- knows different types and alloys of digital media, is able to navigate the Internet safely, knows the most common types of social media, is able to create accounts and use social media for journalistic purposes;
- is able to encourage Internet users to create content and is able to use this content for journalistic purposes; is aware of the specifics of serving information in the production of online media.
