Course aims
The objective of the course is to create opportunities for analysing personal developmental needs, planning self-development and developing specialty competences; supporting preparedness to develop specialty studies and participation in lifelong learning.
Brief description of the course
Specialty needs and objectives of a vocational education teacher. Qualification standards and specialty competences. Self-improvement opportunities at specialty events (conferences, information days, trade fairs, networks, vocational competitions, etc.). Professional development while working (work processes of the specialty, work operations, modern technology, best practice, etc.). The development of specialty competences, planning for lifelong learning. Opportunities for developing specialty studies.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- analyses the need for self-development concerning the specialty in the context of lifelong learning and according to the qualification standard of the specialty;
- plans the development of their own specialty competences in accordance with their own developmental needs and goals;
- implements specialty knowledge and skills in a work environment based on planned goals and learning from best practice;
- reflects upon their own specialty development aspects by highlighting the impact on the development of their own specialty competences and opportunities to develop studies of the specialty.
