Course aims
The objective of the course is to support the development of a VET teacher with self-analysis skills to fulfil the role of a vocational teacher, to create the opportunity to develop skills to take into account the developmental needs and particularities of students, to cooperate, to solve problems, to work in a team and to be able to advise and support colleagues in their work.
Brief description of the course
Qualifications, tasks and role of a VET teacher, including the role of the VET as a supervisor, advisor and colleague. Professional standard of VET teachers and other standards that regulate the competence of a VET teacher. Reflection and professional self-development; shaping, managing and championing the reputation of vocational training. Teamwork and networking in vocational education. Supporting colleagues.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands their role as a VET teacher and plans further professional development;
- analyses themselves according to the VET teacher professional standard and other standards regulating the work of a VET teacher;
- reflects on their professionalism according to the need to plan further development;
- understands their role in professionally supporting and advising colleagues;
- is prepared to cooperate with social partners based on the needs of the learning and educational process.
