Course aims

To provide an overview of the legislation and documents in force in the EU and the Republic of Estonia concerning the organization of education in the Republic of Estonia.

Brief description of the course

The subject provides the necessary overview of the legislation in force in the field of education in Estonia and the practice of its implementation in the professional activities of a teacher. The course includes an analysis of the aims and content of legal policy and legislation in the field, as well as an introduction to the principles of analysis and verification of the conformity of activities.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- has an overview of the legislation in force in the field of education in Estonia and the development trends in the field;
- knows and is able to analyze and explain the content and objectives of legal policy and legislation in the field, including terminology;
- is able to analyze and prove the conformity of activities and give an opinion also on other simpler issues of legal content related to the field.
