Course aims
To apply theoretical knowledge in practice when teaching students with learning difficulties in special education lessons, getting to know school support system and the work of special education teacher in general.
Brief description of the course
The internship will take place in general education school (grades 1 to 9). The intern will get familiar with learning support groups and their timetable, will learn about collaboration with colleagues and parents, get to know school support system, observe and carry out special education lessons. The intern will assist the special education teacher and carries out agreed tasks.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the possibilities to apply support system in general education school;
- can plan and carry out special education lessons;
- can analyze and evaluate his or her own pedagogical actions, while taking into account learner’s special needs and the learning environment;
- knows and values the role of team when solving problems related to students with special needs, develops his or her collaboration skills; can ask, offer and receive constructive feedback and help.
