Course aims
To create opportunities for: - acquiring knowledge about various approaches to talent and concurrence with other special educational needs; - acquiring knowledge and skills for the purpose of detecting and clarifying talent; - acquiring supporting teaching strategies for working with talented students in the context of inclusive education
Brief description of the course
Approaches to talent, giftedness related psychological and environmental factors. Talent and creativity. Talented learners. Talent in the long-term perspective. Special pedagogy perspective: supporting aspects that need development through strengths. Talent development support measures.
The link between special capabilities and other special educational needs.
Identification. Talent in the context of inclusive education. The lectures are supported by the Moodle environment.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- possesses an overview of various approaches to academic skills;
- is aware of and able to detect different characteristics of the talent and abilities of students;
- is able in the context of inclusive education to support the student in their educational and learning realities while taking into account their abilities and supporting their positive self-image.
