Course aims
Creating the conditions for information specialists within the organization to acquire the knowledge and skills required to provide the analytical information services needed.
Brief description of the course
The role of data and information in achieving organizational goals, making management decisions, and adapting to a changing environment. The nature and impact of a data revolution. The role of information specialists in the organization data revolution, business intelligence and information services. Analytical information products. The use of different analytical techniques in the preparation of evidence-based information products supporting management decisions. Information monitoring of the external environment of the organization as a tool for information and knowledge management. Concepts, aims and methods of information monitoring. Web monitoring tools, information analysis techniques - empirical, logical, statistical and heuristic.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the importance of information analytics services in achieving organizational goals, making management decisions, and adapting to a changing environment;
- has knowledge of the nature and importance of data and information monitoring in the process of providing information analytical services to organizations;
- is familiar with the data and information monitoring of the web environment and the most important monitoring possibilities and methods;
- knows the principles of data and information processing and the methods of information analysis applied.

- has knowledge of the nature and importance of data and information monitoring in the process of providing information analytical services to organizations;
