Course aims
To support obtaining knowledge on concept of preservation and preservation activities.
To create prerequisites to obtain knowledge on concept and problems of preservation in digital environment.

Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
A student who has passed the course:
- has knowledge on theoretical approaches to preservation, understands the importance of preservation in the context of cultural heritage;
- has an overview of preservation activities in different memory institutions and is able to organise preservation activities;
- knows the possibilities for the renewal of information and is able to choose the right means to ensure preservation of information;
- is able to evaluate preservation risks and take measures to lessen the risks;
- knows the principles of preservation and is able to use them in practice.
