Course aims
To support the development of knowledge about the nature and concepts of the digital library. Analyze the digital library development framework.
Brief description of the course
The nature of digital library, concepts, approaches. Areas of the digital library - resources, content, users, functionality, policies, quality, architecture. Digital library development framework - projects, professional communities. Theoretical bases of digital library models.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- know the nature, concepts and approaches of the digital library;
- are able to analyze and evaluate the theoretical basis of digital library models;
- are able to design and implement a library in a digital environment.
