Course aims
To introduce main topics of information systems and to acquiant with different applications for records and archives management.
To provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills on planning, introducing and analysing records management and archival information systems.

Brief description of the course
The course consists of two modules:
Module I: Electronic document management systems as information systems. Document management systems in Estonia.
Module II: Archive Management Systems. Introduction to archival information systems - the need for information systems, connections with the state information system and international systems. Archive systems of the National Archives

Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is aware of the nature of information systems and the problems of their creation, management and development;
- knows the types of information systems used in document and archive management and has experience in the practical use of the most important of them;
- has basic knowledge of analysis and implementation of document and archive management systems;

Õppetöö toimub e-õppes Moodle keskkonnas loengute ja iseseisvate töödena. Praktikumides toimuvate arvestuslike tööde sooritamine on kohustuslik.

Eksami hinde moodustab kirjaliku iseseisvate tööde koondhinne.
