Course aims
The aim of the course is to develop knowledge and skills about the modern learning concepts and practiceses that enable the librarian to skilfully conduct user training in the new information environment
Brief description of the course
The course treats the contemporary pedagogical and technology-based approaches and their implementations in user training. The role of librarian and tasks in physical and virtual learning environment. Modern learning environment and learning concepts.User training in libraries, information centres and in digital environment. Social networks, communities, personal environments, new educational tools (MOOCs, digital badges).
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the role and tasks of the librarian in physical and virtual learning environment;
- has an overview about the modern learning environment, learning concepts and theoretical approaches to user training;
- is able to plan and implement user training in library, information centre and digital environment;
- knows the possibilities of social networks, communities, personallearning environments and new technological tools (MOOCs, digital badges).
- understands the role and tasks of the librarian in physical and virtual learning environment;
