Course aims
The objective of the course is to develop an understanding of how an organization may manage its information processes more effectively in order to increase its capacity to learn and adapt; to help the students to recognize the issues and challenges of information management in the digital environment.
Brief description of the course
Various aspects of information management will be discussed: the role of information, information systems and information technology strategy; the nature of information behaviour, learning organisation and intellectual capital; organizational change in the context of the knowledge generation and sharing, and information gathering, processing, storage, seeking, retrieval, use and dissemination. The necessary skills to solve information management tasks are developed using discussions in forums, chats, seminar works and with teams in this module as well as via individual assignments. The learning process is supported by learning management system Moodle.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to recognize the issues and challenges of information management, and apply technologies and methods to acquire, organize and manage information.
