Course aims
To create opportunities for obtaining the theoretical basis for studying the field of librarianship, including the basic cincepts, the types of libraries, the network of libraries and the legal basis for their operation;
To support the obtaining of knowledge on the role of libraries in the society

Brief description of the course
The basic consepts of librarianship and types of libraries, The legal context of librarianship. Standardisation in libraries. Macro environment of librarianship. The organisational framework of library activities. The economic principles of librarianship and library management.
