Course aims
The course aims to provide insight into the game industry by introducing professional fields of game developments, processes, insight into success and failures and provision of tools for working on the business.
Brief description of the course
Introduction to the game industry. Roles and jobs of game industry. Tools and processes of game development. Game marketing and project management. Game industry gatherings, conferences and events. Pitching game. Business plan, financial forecast and funding. Legals: IP and contracts
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the theoretical approaches to gaming as a business;
- has a starting point in the case they want to enter the games industry;
- obtains insights into recent developments in the field of game industry;
- develops understanding of why failure happens and considers how to mitigate it for their own projects.
