Course aims
This course aims to teach best practices, tools and work methods in the IT and creative (including games and interaction design) industry through practical assignments. Students will learn to use project management tools and learn agile and Scrum project management techniques by implementing the theoretical knowledge and best practices while planning and executing a suitable-sized development project (creating a new game or developing user experience).
Brief description of the course
Agile development principles (Scrum), agile planning, design and production, QA. This includes idea generation, team forming and leading, role assignments and responsibilities, time management (sprints and iterations), budget planning, scope management (concept, user stories, releases), stakeholders, and risk management. Decision-making, problem-solving, product development and documentation, work meetings and progress reports, and final product presentation.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has practical experience with project management environments;
- constructs a project plan with deadlines, working hours and budgets;
- knows better her project work-related abilities;
- has experience with suitable tools and methods.
