Course aims
Learn about different tools that are used in professional capacity for facilitating and development of games.
Brief description of the course
The course focuses on introducing many different game development tools for students to learn about and choose from to facilitate their projects. Game development industry has tools that have somewhat become a standard though mostly choices are made based on what is required and what preference team(s) have. Course will cover following segments:
- Game Engines
- Game Design Tools
- Project Management Tools
- Publishing Tools
- Platforms.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is familiar with the types of tools used in the game development process, including game engines and other middleware;
- is able to identify the most prominent tools currently used in the industry, their pros and cons, and how they complement each other;
-is able to choose best tools to compliment their project and skill set
