Course aims
Develop students' problem-setting, needs clarification, goal formulation and problem investigation skills and academic writing skills.
Brief description of the course
The thesis are carried out with the support of the research supervisor. The thesis and its development must comply with the requirements set in the Regulations for the Organization of Studies at TLU as well as the Requirements for Bachelors Theses at the Institute.
For introduction of requirements, methodologies and processes, as well to support students, the workshops will take place in parallel with compileing the thesis.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to use local and global literature and other written materials, also electronic equipment;
- knows general quality criteria for exploratory and development work and of the basis of these is able to assess the quality of work of the same level;
- knows the basic research types and logic their methodological structure;
- is able to set up appropriate research questions and development goals and to plan and carry out theoretical or development research;
- is able to structure the research paper, according to the requirements and present the results in convincing way;
- is able to use correct terminology in written and spoken form.
