Course aims
Offer knowledge and develop skills for using IT tools that support effective operation in information society.
Brief description of the course
The course covers the basic problems of application of ICT tools: selection of ICT tools, configuring and management them (incl mobile devices); security issues; setting up personal learning environment; using social software and social networks; setting up and using personal LAN; digital photography; leagal aspects of using ICT tools.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the history of information society and the role of ICT tools in it;
- is able to select suitable ICT tools (incl digital camera), configure and manage them;
- knows the main threats of using networked computers, and how to avoid them;
- knows the basics of netiquette;
- is able to apply principles of web in adjusting web pages to personal needs;
- is able to set up and use personal learning environment;
- knows the principles of operation of social networks and teamwork supporting tools;
- is able to set up hypermedia based services;
- knows the basics of licensing.
