Course aims
The goal of the thesis is to allow the students to study and analyse a chosen problem in the field of the curriculum, using state-of-the art theories and methods as well as to develop the skills of academic writing.
Brief description of the course
The course consists of seminars and research carried out by the student and supervised by the advisor. The seminars will introduce the general principles of academic research, provide overview of the most common research methods, discuss generic quality criteria and introduce the principles of structure, presentation, references etc. The thesis and its development must comply with the requirements set in the Regulations for the Organization of Studies at TLU as well as the Requirements for Bachelors Theses at the Institute of Informatics.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
The student is able to present a written work which contains a systematic and logical presentation of a relevant problem and according to the academic criteria for a scientific paper.
