Course aims
Create opportunities to understand and apply user interface design principles and workflow.
To develop skills in students to design functional and visually attractive user interfaces that take into account accessibility.
Gain experience creating interactive, high-detail prototypes.
Brief description of the course
Basic Principles of User Interface (UI) Design, Jakob Nielsen's 10 heuristics. Design tools, prototyping software handling. Creating a highly detailed interactive prototype. Applying simplicity and clarity, visual hierarchy, navigability, consistency, adaptability, accessibility, conventionality, reliability, user-centeredness, etc. in creating a user interface. The role of design fundamentals (use of space, color, typography, etc.) in user interface design.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the principles of user interface (UI) design and applies them in the work process of creating user interfaces;
- to consider factors affecting functionality, visual appeal and accessibility when designing the user interface;
- is able to use design tools and create an interactive, high-detail prototype.
