Course aims
To support the development of topics necessary for independent research and the application of corresponding methods. To create prerequisites for understanding the functioning of societies and cultures in various Asian regions. To provide knowledge necessary for understanding Asian societies and cultures.
Brief description of the course
Within the course, academic sources on Asian societies and cultures and the related research are discussed in depth. The lecturer chooses the appropriate methodological approach and the sources to be read and recommends how to approach them. The focus of the special course may be different each academic year according to the assigned lecturer.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has gained knowledge about different sources specific to Asian societies and cultures;
- is able to critically evaluate sources and academic material;
- is able to analyze different issues related to Asian societies and cultures using proper methodology in doing so.
