Course aims

Create prerequisites for understanding of linguistic problems of the modern Turkish language and create the interest for solving them.

Brief description of the course

Linguistic variation in speech: the features distinguishing the personal speech style or defects. Media language: “westernization” of the language of newspapers and magazines, the Internet, pop music, film producers, etc.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- has knowledge about processes which are taking place in the modern Turkish language;
- has ability to distinguish grammatical and syntactical errors in speech from a personal style:
- has ability to analyze texts in order to find syntactic and logical errors and to improve them according to knowledge of the Turkish language synonymous.
