Brief description of the course
This introductory course focuses on acquiring foundational knowledge of the Japanese language and culture, providing a basis for reaching CEFR level A1 and JLPT level N5. The course covers the Japanese writing system (Hiragana, Katakana, and 72 Kanji) and fundamental grammatical rules, including three verb forms (dictionary, masu, and te-form) along with noun and adjective forms. Students develop the ability to form simple sentences and manage everyday situations while adapting their communication style to the cultural context. Emphasis is placed on the safe and purposeful use of digital learning tools and the ability to set and analyze personal learning goals.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the Japanese writing system and uses the learned 72 kanji and vocabulary in appropriate contexts;
- understands and constructs simple sentences following basic Japanese grammatical rules;
- communicates in simple real-life situations, considering Japanese cultural norms and the target audience;
- uses digital and technical tools purposefully to enhance language learning;
- sets individual learning goals and analyzes their progress and responsibility within the learning process.
