Brief description of the course
During the course, students achieve proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) corresponding approximately to CEFR level A2. The course covers the plural and elative forms of adjectives, participles and maṣdars, as well as key syntactic structures (such as kāna and its “sisters,” nominal and compound constructions). It also introduces the basic forms of triliteral and quadriliteral verbs, the passive voice, and conditional and passive sentence structures.
Particular emphasis is placed on the development of reading skills, including the comprehension of simpler classical Arabic texts, as well as on the use of the language in a wider range of academic and everyday contexts.
Learning takes place through guided instruction, practical grammar and communication exercises, reading and analysis of texts, and both oral and written expression. The course supports the development of analytical thinking, independent learning, and self-regulation skills, as well as the informed use of digital tools in language learning
