Brief description of the course
The course provides an introduction to Turkish culture within its historical and contemporary contexts. It examines key aspects of cultural development, including social structures, traditions, artistic expression, and everyday practices. Particular attention is given to the interaction between historical heritage and modern cultural dynamics, as well as to intercultural perspectives. The course supports the development of analytical, comparative, and communication skills in a multicultural academic environment.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- demonstrates knowledge of the key elements of Turkish culture, including its historical development, traditions, and contemporary expressions;
- analyses and interprets cultural phenomena in their historical and social contexts;
- compares Turkish culture with other cultural contexts, demonstrating intercultural awareness;
- uses appropriate academic terminology to describe cultural processes and practices;
- communicates in a multicultural learning environment, adapting their communication style as needed.
