Course aims

To create prerequisites for developing Turkish on A2 Waystage level; to create prerequisites for acquiring pronunciation and developing listening comprehension skills; to create prerequisites for reinforcing basic grammar; to create preconditions for expanding vocabulary. To support the development of communication skills.

Brief description of the course

The course is designed to target the students whose command of Turkish equals to A1 level (Breakthrough) according to ELP (the European language Portfolio). Development of pronunciation skills; sevelopment of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills by means of interactive and communicative activities; systematic overview of Turkish grammar; thematic vocabulary expansion. The pre-requisite for the registration is A1 level in Turkish.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- can use the most frequent connectors to link sentences;
- can express opinions, likes and dislikes in familiar contexts using simple language;
- can understand and use basic grammar rules.
