Course aims
To provide a deeper insight into key texts of ancient and medieval philosophy. To prepare for independent reading and common discussion of said texts.
Brief description of the course
Selected texts of ancient and medieval philosophy will be read and their content will be clarified using secondary literature.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to read, understand and analyze texts by himself;
- has a deeper knowledge of some key texts and is able to analyze the structure and main ideas and arguments of the text;
- is able to see the importance of the texts in a broader perspective throughout the history of philosophy and culture.
