Course aims

Create an overview on Italian cinema's history, with special attention on neorealism.

Brief description of the course

An introduction to the Italian cinema heritage of the neorealism period and its influence on film art. Every course has its theoretical part, followed by episodes from a film, then analysed.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
Capacity to acquire basic knowleadge on Italian film art, to periodically contextualise, understand and analyse films.
